EYELASH EXTENSIONS VS LASH LIFT

What are the differences, risks, and benefits of both?

Eyelash extensions are very different from lash lifts. A lash lift chemically perms your lashes curly so they can point upwards until they naturally shed, while with extensions, a tiny false eyelash is glued to your natural eyelash to make them longer, thicker, and even more voluminous than usual.

This table shows a detailed comparison between both so you can see the differences:

LASH LIFT

25 - 120 Euros

45 minutes - 2 hours

2 months

Subtle and natural results

No Maintenance until the next session 8 weeks later

No water for 24 hours, no mascara for 48 hours.

On rare occasions, may sting slightly during the appointment

You'll be very cute!

The tips of your lashes can get burnt when done improperly. You can be allergic to one of the products.

Easier to maintain, no need to change your beauty routine, you can add mascara, as usual, very natural look. A 'botox' mask at the end can thicken them and a tint will make them darker.

They are too subtle and you still need mascara and to curl it more at times that you want to show them off

LASH EXTENSIONS

60 - 300 Euros

1 hour - 5 hours

3 weeks or until the end of refill sessions

More volume and length, the subtlety depends on the style

More maintenance

No water for 24 hours, no sauna, steam or swimming for 48 hours. No mascara or eyelash curlers. No oil-based facial products.

On rare occasions, may sting at the end of the appointment.

You'll be hot AF!

If done in an inexperienced place, you may end up with lash loss due to poor isolation or low-quality products.

Instantly more attractive, you'll always be ready to go, you'll look amazing at sweaty and awkward situations such as beach, gym, swimming pool, etc

High-maintenance, requires constant care and retouches, can become expensive over time, it becomes addictive.

It is worth noting that after getting a lash lift, you must wait at least two weeks to get extensions done and that you cannot get a lash lift done while still wearing extensions.

When people ask us which is best, I mention that neither is better than the other, they are two different services that serve two different purposes. It is up to you to decide which one you prefer!

If you're afraid of getting anything done then it is better to start with a lash lift. If you feel like the results aren't as dramatic or visible as you would like them to be then we recommend getting a full set of classic lash extensions. And if you want them even more dramatic after that, then ask your lash extensions artist to add in some volume lashes on your next refill appointment!

Hope this was helpful for you if you're deciding on which one to get. If you're ready to get them done now and save time in the mornings getting ready then book online at www.secretlashparis.com/book
